# Phase 2: First GPUs

Use accumulated treasury resources to acquire the first GPUs, establish physical infrastructure, and transition toward a GPU-backed ecosystem.

Phase 2 is designed to introduce the first physical GPU infrastructure. The roadmap targets this phase for one month after launch, using accumulated treasury resources.

### Hardware target

| Roadmap target           | Detail                    |
| ------------------------ | ------------------------- |
| Initial hardware | Two NVIDIA RTX 4090 units |
| Approximate target price | $2,000 per unit           |
| Funding path | GPU Treasury accumulation |

These are roadmap targets, not completed deployments or guaranteed market prices. NVIDIA is referenced only as the stated hardware target. The project has no NVIDIA partnership, sponsorship, or involvement.

### From treasury to infrastructure

Phase 2 depends on the treasury accumulated during Phase 1. Trading volume affects creator-fee revenue, which affects treasury accumulation. That dependency can affect the pace of the transition to physical GPUs.

The project plans to publish the following information for the initial hardware:

* GPU serial numbers and photos
* Hosting location
* Monthly uptime and utilization reports

### Terminology and administration

During Phase 1, the ecosystem is described as **GPU-powered** because no GPUs exist. Once GPUs are live and generating rental revenue, the project intends to use **GPU-backed**. This is roadmap terminology, not a legal or technical certification.

The source also plans a permanent admin renounce in Phase 2. After renunciation, the program is intended to operate without the project's administrative control. The roadmap does not define the transaction or implementation details.

The next phase is designed to expand from treasury-owned hardware toward external operator capacity.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://whitepaper.usegpu.app/roadmap/phase-2-first-gpus.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
