# What is USE-GPU?

Understand what USE-GPU is, how its fee-funded mining model works, and why GPU infrastructure is part of its long-term design.

USE-GPU is a fee-funded mining ecosystem built on Solana. Its starting point is token trading activity, not deployed GPU hardware.

The project launches its token on pump.fun. Trading generates a 0.30% creator fee that flows to the USE-GPU treasury. That treasury funds the mining pool and other defined allocations, while building toward GPU infrastructure over time.

> **Use the GPU. Mine the yield.**

### The starting point

USE-GPU begins in Phase 1 with no GPUs. Revenue comes from creator fees generated by token trades. The project uses that activity to fund mining rewards, grow the treasury, and build the mining mechanism and community first.

The basic relationship is:

```
Trading activity → creator fee → treasury and mining rewards → GPU infrastructure over time
```

Mining does not mean Bitcoin-style proof-of-work. Users do not contribute GPU computation to earn rewards. Instead, users commit tokens and time to receive a share of the mining pool. The amount committed and the commitment length determine mining power.

The mining pool is primarily funded by the creator fee allocation. Detailed locking, reward, and epoch mechanics appear later in the Mining and Reward Economics sections.

### A progression toward infrastructure

The treasury is intended to support GPU acquisition in later phases. Phase 2 targets the first GPUs. Later phases describe external GPU operators and an inference API.

Those components are planned progression, not current operations. Phase 1 is a fee-funded mining system without GPU infrastructure.

### What USE-GPU is not

* It is not NVIDIA and has no NVIDIA affiliation or partnership
* It is not pump.fun and has no pump.fun partnership or endorsement
* It is not a dividend

USE-GPU starts with trading activity and fee-funded mining. Treasury growth is intended to support real GPU infrastructure as the ecosystem develops.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://whitepaper.usegpu.app/introduction/what-is-use-gpu.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
